Birmingham-Southern's Young Alumni Council is passionate about giving back to the community!
We realized that by investing in future BSC students, we in turn are investing in the future of our local community. According to the American Psychological Association,
two-thirds of first-generation college students choose careers that give back, and roughly 20 percent of BSC’s current student body are first-generation. With many first-generation alumni serving on this year’s Council, the group feels strongly about giving a deserving student this opportunity.
That's why this year for
#BSCGivingTuesday, we’ve launched a campaign to
fund a scholarship for a student who is the first in their immediate family to attend a college or university. This student will become a member of BSC’s Class of 2024. We hope that you will reflect on how BSC has impacted you personally and help us provide that impact to a first-generation student. Give back to BSC and your community by
making a gift today!
We hit our original goal of $20,000 as of 3:30pm, and we now have a
NEW GOAL of $25,000! Help us increase the funds we will be able to provide a first-generation student by making a gift toward this new goal.
