Birmingham-Southern's Young Alumni Council is passionate about giving back to the community!
Thank you again to everyone who participated in our 2019 Giving Tuesday project: funding a scholarship for a student who is the first in their family to attend a college or university. We’re happy to report that 2019's scholarship recipient, Zion Thomas, is over halfway through his first fall term at Birmingham-Southern.
Due to increased financial uncertainty as a result of the pandemic, many first-generation students across the country are reconsidering whether college is an option.
That's why we, the Young Alumni Council, have decided to renew our dedication to first-generation students in 2020. This year for #BSCGivingTuesday
, we’ve launched a campaign to fund a second scholarship for a student who is the first in their immediate family to attend a college or university
. This student will become a member of BSC’s Class of 2025. We hope that you will reflect on how BSC has impacted you personally and help us provide that impact to a first-generation student. Give back to BSC and your community by making a gift today
